The United Forum for Quranic Studies (UFQS) will conduct grand finale of the third Quran recitation competition for children in the age group of 3 to 12 years, here at Autonagar Technicians’ Association Hall, on February 14 at 9.30 a.m.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, forum founder-chairman Md. Dawood said that the competitions are being conducted to promote study and implementation of the principles pronounced in the holy text.

About 3,500 students took part in the preliminary competitions. Of them, 360 were selected for finals.

The competitions are being conducted in two categories — children in age group of 3 to 5 years, and second group 6 to 12 years.

Cash awards of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 will be given to the first, second and the third prize winners respectively in first group. Similarly, Rs.40,000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs.20,000 will be given to the first, second and the third prize winners respectively in second group. In both categories, the students who make it to the semi-finals would be given a cash prize of Rs.500, a copy of Quran, memento and certificate, he said.

Radiance Views weekly chief editor Moulana Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Jamiat-e-Ahle Hadees president Syed Atiqur Rehman, Hafiz Ilyas Muhatamim of Jamia Ahesha Niswan, Moulana Abudl Salam Dastagir Saheb of Amir e Halqa-JIH would be guests, he said.
